Against the wind
at Racing Aeolus 2026

27.08.2026

Once again this year, OranjeWind contributed to one of the world’s biggest sustainability competitions: Racing Aeolus. Teams from all over the world came to Den Helder. They competed in various races along the dyke, in cars powered by wind turbines. These cars can reach speeds of up to 50 km/h against the wind! And as well as wind, there was plenty of rain, sunshine and even a real whirlwind! Initiatives such as Racing Aeolus demonstrate how creativity and technology can go hand in hand for a cleaner future. The race brings together students, innovators, organisations and visitors to celebrate innovation and sustainable technology. We are proud to have been able to support this unique event.
